Amore is our foundation dam – the first to join our program, and the mother and grandmother of many of our current breeders. Amore, or Mo, as she is affectionately called, joined us in June 2009 from Urban Doodles in Calgary, in whelp with her first litter. She had four litters, producing 15 puppies, and retired in 2012. Amore passed away on 13 November 2020 from the effects of old age. We miss her terribly, but are reminded of her daily as we work with the many puppies who are her descendants and her ongoing legacy.

Garnet was from Amore’s very first litter, a very petite puppy who stayed petite in adulthood. Despite her tiny size, she gave us 11 puppies in just two litters Garnet’s puppies were all named after heavenly or celestial bodies (interpreted very loosely as things to do with sky and air). Garnet had a lovely and active disposition. She LOVED to play frisbee and is one of the best frisbee catchers I have seen in canine form. Garnet retired in 2012 and passed away in 2017.

Galena is one of our very own DragonRam puppies, from Amore’s third litter. Galena’s name comes from the mineral that is an important source of silver – quite fitting, as her coal lightened and silvered as she matured, giving her a beautiful cafe coat with silver highlights. Her second name, Magnolia, is in honour of her sire’s southern heritage. Galena was one of the friendliest, sweetest dogs we have every had. She was loving and gentle, spirited and lively, and loved to snuggle! Galena gave us 28 puppies in four litters before retiring in 2016 and passed away in 2018.

Another DragonRam original, Topaz is from Amore’s fourth and final litter. With a gem name, like all of Amore’s puppies, pure topaz is colourless but impurities can give the gem many different colours, including orange. Topaz is a playful and independent dog who lives with a Guardian Family with three children. She is one of the smaller dogs we have bred. Topaz gave us ten puppies in two litters and retired in 2016.

Clover, one of Phoenix’s daughters. is a beautiful chocolate phantom Australian Labradoodle, faded to a light caramel, with some white markings on her head and neck. She also carries parti from her sire, Rogue. Clover lives with a great guardian family with two active boys. Clover has a wonderful temperament, being very quiet and people-oriented. She is devoted to her guardian dad and loves to play with her humnan brothers. Clover had her first litter in May 2019 and has proven herself to be a loving and attentive mama.

Marshmallow is a full sibling to Clover, with the same dam (Phoenix) and sire (Rogue) though from a different litter. Marshmallow is a beautiful black with a white blaze up her face and continuing down her neck and shoulders in a pattern that, when she was a puppy, was shaped kind of like a Christmas tree. Marshmallow carries both parti and phantom. She lives in an active Guardian family with several teenagers. She is a very lively, friendly, and adventurous dog, who seems to have inherited her mama’s strong maternal instinct, if the way she responds to toehr dogs and stray cats is any indication! Marshmallow will begin her breeding career in late 2019 or early 2020.

Panik In Socks is a lovely chocolate parti girl from our own Dakota Suki’s final litter. Daktoa’s theme for her puppies’ names is words from Indigenous languages. For this litter, we chose to use only words from Inuktitut, to reflect the season of their birth (winter) and to honour Canada’s new Governor General Mary Simon, an Inuk woman. “Panik” means “daughter” which we felt was appropriate. Her Guardian family wanted to call her “Socks” hence – Panik In Socks! She is a very loving, attentive, and human-oriented girl and we look forward to having some amazing puppies from her when she matures.

Hugo is a new stud we brought into our program from Nova Scotia. Hugo is a lovely cream/apricot colour with a soft fleecy coat. He is very close to his humans. He then developed some separation anxiety so we retired him.

Cumin is from Phoenix’s first litter. Cjmin’s final name, Blackthorn, is a rather obscure allusion to his birthdte of St Patrick’s Day. In Irish tradition, druids would use a staff made from the blackthorn tree. His Guardian family calls him Chino, owing to his colour – faded to a soft cappuccino. While technically a chocolate phantom, Cumin’s tan points aren’t that distinguishable from the faded chocolate secions, save the slightly darker stripe down his back. This colouring arises from his carrying the wild agouti gene (a ). In temperament Cumin is very independent and attentive to his surroundings.
